For VERBUNDEN – DEN SAND AUS DEN SCHUHEN SCHÜTTELN, Peter Böhnisch has created a new series of portraits using sand, corundum and pigments.
Drawn directly into the surface with his fingers, the faces emerge from the material itself – raw and delicate, physical and deeply human. Less concerned with resemblance than with presence, Böhnisch captures fleeting expressions and states of mind, preserving them in sand.
