Overview

Paolo Ventura (born in Milan, 1968) immerses himself in the elaborate sets he creates. 

His work has been exhibited internationally, including at Rencontres de la Photographie, Arles, France, and Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris; and in 2011, he created a series of works for the Italian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale.

His works are held in prominent collections, including at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the Library of Congress, Washington, DC. Other monographs by Ventura include War Souvenir (2006), Winter Stories (Aperture, 2009), The Automaton (2012), Short Stories (2016), Quarantine Diary (2020) and the monograph Paolo Ventura, Photographs and Drawings (2020), Autobiography of an impostor (2021), and also recently some books for children.
